Both of my parents had a love of photography. My father’s approach was very photojournalistic, while my mom preferred the traditional, classic style best. I received my very first camera at age 10, and have never stopped taking photographs. However, it wasn’t until my 20’s when I realized that there is a huge difference between being a picture taker and being a picture “maker”.
My photography career spans a couple of decades, and has taken me many places, both internal and external. I’m looking through my lens, but am telling your story, as it unfolds, moment by moment. I strive to bring out your most authentic personalities.
Growing up in Europe has allowed me to appreciate the little things in life and to stop and savor the moments. My creativity blossomed from allowing my mind to embrace all forms of artistic expression. From an early age I’ve enjoyed painting, drawing, sculpture and crafting.
I hold dual degrees, both of which I use daily. My degree in advertising/design and illustration has honed my skills for unique concepts, composition and color. On the other hand my psychology degree has allowed me to communicate more effectively with my clients and to always strive for an emotional connection during my sessions; not just between my subjects but also within my subjects.
I’m lucky to be married to the love of my life, someone who makes me laugh on a daily basis. He also acts as my second set of arms on photo shoots and at weddings. Together we have 4 adult children, and 3 grandchildren. In our home you will find an adorable, yellow lab we rescued named Savannah.
For me seeing how my photos touch others, whether they bring a smile, a chuckle, or a tear, is what I consider truly priceless. I welcome the opportunity to bring that to you and your family.
